Man truly a sad day for Def Jam and Hip-Hop as a well. Shakir Stewart was the VP that replaced Jay-Z and was awesome at what he did. Before that he was working A&R for them and spearheaded the signing of amazing southern artist. The two he is most known for are Young Jeezy and Rick Ross. The report says they found him dead in his apartment from a gunshot wound to the head, so it is being reported as a suicide. Even though I did not know him personally I did follow his work and was expecting great things at Def Jam. He is a visionary that will be missed. Check the full story:Shakir Stewart
