A day after being arrested and charged for drug possession and with the intent to sell marijuana, Long Beach, CA rapper/producer Warren G has been cleared on all charges.
According to TMZ, based on insufficient evidence, L.A. Country District Attorney has thrown out the drug charges filed against Warren G and his friend Ryan Butler. The District Attorney disclosed that there was not enough evidence to link the two men to the weed police found in the trunk, as the vehicle was not registered to Warren or Butler.
"They were in Hollywood area for Kanye's party," a rep for Warren G told TMZ. "He was a passenger asleep in the front seat when the car was pulled over. They charged him because he didn't debrief. Whatever was found wasn't his, it was in the car."
As SOHH previously reported earlier, the 35 year-old rapper was pulled over at 1:40 a.m. Sunday morning, when Butler, 29, allegedly ran a red light in downtown Hollywood. When the car was stopped and searched by LAPD, marijuana was found in the back of the vehicle, leading to the two men being arrested.
Both Warren G and Butler were released after posting $20,000 bail.
